In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Paul urges that supplications, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
We are called to be priests of the Lord (I Pet.2:9). It is a privilege given to us as believers as we have direct access to the throne of God through Jesus Christ our great High Priest. We can boldly bring our prayers and intercession to God who hears and answers our prayers.
Therefore, let us rise up as priests together, as the church to pray and stand in the gap for friends and family, for the church, community and nations. Together, we can thwart the power and plans of the evil one through our prayers and intercession (Lev. 26:8).
