Beatitudes
Commences 8th March
4 Weeks | 1.30pm (2hrs)
In line with our theme, "Lift Jesus Higher', The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-10) are eight blessings given by Jesus during the Sermon on the Mount, outlining a "counter-cultural" lifestyle for his followers. Rather than rewarding wealth or power, they praise virtues like humility, mercy, and peace-making, promising spiritual satisfaction and the Kingdom of Heaven. They represent "be-attitudes"—internal, godly character traits. Derived from the Latin word beatus (meaning "blessed" or "happy"), they describe the internal character traits of a citizen of God’s Kingdom rather than a list of rules. LIVING LIFE THRU THE LENS OF the Beatitudes will exalt Jesus and bring healing to a broken world.
